Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Birka! We need your help to hold such a successful event. It has often been said that “Volunteers are the lifeblood of Birka”.
Several areas which run most of the weekend, will have time blocks to sign up for. They will be listed below. If you wish to volunteer in one of those areas, please signup on that sheet before going to the Volunteer Roster. There are several areas that require specialized knowledge such as Fencing, Heavy List, MOL, and Youth Fighting. You will need to speak with the staff head running that area before signing up on the Volunteer Roster. If you have any questions about volunteering, please reach out to the staff head.
If you are planning on volunteering for less than 4 hours, don’t forget to pre-register. All volunteers who work 4 hours or more will have their site fee waived, please don’t pre-register as we will capture your registration through the Volunteer Roster. If you have already pre-registered and plan on volunteering for more than 4 hours, you will need to speak to Gate if you wish to receive a refund.
